Almost anyone! The method can be tailored for regular cycles, irregular cycles, postpartum and breastfeeding, perimenopause, and other circumstances such as polycystic ovarian syndrome.

The costs of the method include your instructors fees, and the relevant supplies. The Clearblue monitor and test strips can be purchased from Amazon Australia. The monitor is a once-only cost of around $200, and the amount of test sticks you use on an ongoing basis will be dependant on your individual circumstances. These are sold in boxes of 30 sticks and cost around $75/box currently. As a guide, while breastfeeding/no return of fertility, you can expect to use around 30 tests (or one box of sticks)/month, while in regular cycles you can expect to use around 10-15 tests/month (or one box of sticks every 2-3 months).

The Marquette Method of natural family planning uses the Clearblue fertility monitor and an algorithm to track your urinary hormone levels and calculate the fertile window of your menstrual cycle. The monitor can be used alongside other optional markers of fertility including specific luteinising hormone tests, cervical mucous, and basal body temperature, and protocols without the monitor can be tailored dependant on individual needs.

If you choose to track urinary hormones, you will need to purchase the Clearblue Fertility Monitor and monitor tests sticks. These can be purchased on Amazon Australia and your instructor can provide you with links to the products. You do not need to have these prior to your first instruction session, but you will need them to commence charting. There are optional/additional tests that can be incorporated into your charting, including luteinising hormone urine tests, progesterone urine tests, and basal body temperature.

The method has been extensively studied to show an effectiveness rate of 98% when used correctly, in both regular cycles and in breastfeeding/postpartum circumstances.
